Everything you store draws on the storage and bandwidth printed above, and those figures are sized for normal, reasonable use. Rack1 Burst allocates additional compute during traffic spikes at no extra cost; it does not increase your published bandwidth allowance. If a plan goes a little over that allowance we do our best to absorb it rather than bill you; where bandwidth is charged it never exceeds $0.10 per GB. The full bandwidth policy spells it out.
The monthly price you start on is the monthly price you pay for at least 5 years. Not an introductory rate, not a launch offer, not a number that creeps up once you have moved your site across and stopped paying attention.

No, and that's the point. Rack1 is a fully managed platform. We handle the operating system, the web server, PHP versions, security patching, monitoring and hardware. You upload your site (or install WordPress in a click) and get on with your day.
Yes. Every plan, including the cheapest one, is served through our global edge network with free SSL. We don't charge extra to make your site fast, which would be a strange thing to sell separately.
Burst is our AI-assisted resource allocation. It watches request rates, queue depth and resource pressure across the platform and allocates additional compute to your account when traffic spikes, automatically, in seconds, at no extra cost. It applies to processing capacity, not to your monthly bandwidth allowance, which stays exactly as published on your plan.
On our Static, Basic Shared, Accelerated and WordPress Optimized plans we will do our best to absorb a spike. A good month should not come with an invoice attached. If the excess becomes substantial or keeps happening we will get in touch, and additional bandwidth may be charged at a rate not exceeding $0.10 per GB; usually the better answer is a larger plan and we will tell you that. There is no other bandwidth charge and no hidden multiplier.
Yes, for five years. Our Static, Basic Shared, Accelerated and WordPress Optimized plans carry a five-year price guarantee: the monthly price you start on cannot go up during that time, and existing customers are never charged more than someone signing up today for the same plan. There is no introductory rate that jumps at renewal. It excludes domain registrations, which registries price themselves, and Managed Cloud when it launches, which tracks hardware costs. Each MySQL database can hold up to 1 GB, or up to 5 GB on our Accelerated plans and WP Scale, and each mailbox up to 10 GB. We'd rather show you the ceiling up front than write “unlimited” and enforce a hidden one.
